Bolivia
Things To Do / Activities
Bolivia
is one of the more interesting destinations in South America and
has plenty to do for the adventurous traveler. For instance if you
have an interest in white water rafting you will find some excellent
rivers situated in the eastern region of Bolivia in the Andes. On
some of these rivers you can go kayaking or river rafting. Different
areas offer opportunities for beginners to advance rafters. The
Royal Mountain range along the northeastern border of Bolivia is
particularly well known amongst the kayaking crowd.
For many a must see stop is the Madidi National
Park area. This park is considered to be one of the world's most
biologically diverse. To say the wildlife is varied and abundant
would be an understatement. Without looking too hard you can see
a range of exotic animals, plants, birds and reptiles. It is truly
an amazing park area.
If
you like going off road, Bolivia offers great mountain biking. You
must be in shape, but if you are, you will cross some of the most
amazing scenery found anywhere in the world. As you move higher
up into the mountains, some of the views are simply stunning.
If you don't like mountain biking, then consider
mountain climbing or trekking. The range of options are endless.
A popular trek is along the ancient Inca trail situated in the Apolobamba
Mountains.
For mountain climbers, Bolivia is home to a variety
of peaks ranging from 12-16,000 ft in elevation. There are of course
a couple of higher mountains as well.
Overall, if you like outdoor activities, then Bolivia
is the place to be. You can study and learn Spanish at our Spanish
language school in Sucre, and discover the country on the afternoons
and weekends.
