Spanish Language Levels

The Spanish language school in Buenos Aires offers Spanish courses to students of all levels of Spanish proficiency. Before you start your program you will be given a placement test. Based on the results of the exam you will be placed in a group according to your level of Spanish proficiency.

Beginner
At this level you are unable to communicate in Spanish. You will range from have no knowledge of the language to some rudimentary vocabulary and basic phrases.

Elementary
You will be able to ask and respond to simple questions. Items you can do range from asking for information, getting a hotel room, to ordering a meal. You may also be able to understand simple instructions, basic conversations, etc.

Intermediate
Here a student can use the language in common, predictable everyday situations. A student can also talk about personal interest, express some opinions, attitudes and moods in a general limited conversation.

Advanced
At this level a student has a pretty good vocabulary and will speak with confidence in routine situations. A student at this level can talk about a wide range of subjects, express detailed opinions and provide detailed information.

Very Advanced
At this particular level a student would be at a high degree of fluency. A student can adapt their language skills to a variety of different situations. In day to day situations you can express yourself exceptionally well. New topics may present some difficulty.

Native Speaker
At level five the student is approaching the competence of a native speaker, and has a sure command of the language in a wide range of situations. Any improvement needed will be in the areas of vocabulary, intonation, and style rather than grammatical structures.
