Host Families
The
Spanish language school highly recommends that you stay with a local
host family during your Spanish immersion program in Buenos Aires,
Argentina. When you stay with a local host family you have a chance
to practice what you have learned in your Spanish language class
at the school. Additionally, by staying with a local host family
you will gain a little bit of insight into the culture of Argentina.
The
accommodation offered by the Spanish language school includes both
breakfast and dinner. Your host families details will be emailed
to you approximately 1 -2 weeks prior to the start of your Spanish
immersion program in Buenos Aires. The Spanish language school will
only assign 1 student per host family. Of course if you are traveling
with someone, the Spanish language school is more than happy to
place everyone in the same host family.
Host family profile
- The host family must meet stringent requirement
put into place by the Spanish language school.
- The host families are middle class by local
standards and live in attractive areas of Buenos Aires.
- A large percentage of the host families have
worked with the Spanish language school in Buenos Aires for many
years.
- If there are children in the host family they
can range in age from young children to adults.
- Some homestays do not have children.
- It will typically take you no more than 30
minutes to reach the Spanish language school in Buenos Aires from
your host family.
- Students have their own rooms and sometimes
a private bathroom also.
- Students are given a key to the house
and are free to come and go as they please, but need to respect
the routine of the family they are staying with.
